Jacob Arluck

I have tutored students with Ivy Bound for several years, covering subjects ranging from the SAT to chemistry review to AP European History. Several of my students have seen increases of several hundred points on the SAT. I just graduated from Princeton University, where I majored in history. I was born and raised in New York City, where I graduated from Stuyvesant High School in 2006. I have also taught public speaking and rhetoric to high school students at a private school in Princeton, NJ. When tutoring, I try to emphasize both the content of the test and the principles underlying the material. While test prep is inherently about short-term preparation, it need not be useless for lasting education. Students who understand the connections between the concepts they learn will be well-prepared both for their tests and for future high school and college coursework.

I can help students with general academic work in most subjects, coach the SAT Reasoning test, all Subject Tests except foreign languages, and most AP tests, as well as statewide examinations like the New York State Regents. I'm also proficient at editing college application essays
