With a record of success and more than a decade of teaching experience in the test prep field, Melissa brings the skills and enthusiasm to maximize your student’s academic and testing performance. Melissa began tutoring with Ivy Bound in her freshman year at Harvard in 2001. After graduating from Harvard and spending year as a Fulbright Fellow in Germany, she earned master’s degrees at Columbia University and at the London School of Economics. She is now completing her PhD at the
University of Michigan, where she is a fellow at the Weiser Center for Emerging Democracy and teaches undergraduate courses. She speaks five languages and has conducted research at the Harvard-Yenching Institute, the Harvard Center for Middle Eastern Studies, and Columbia University’s Harriman Institute. Grateful to have learned from some excellent teachers, Melissa is passionate about education and teaching. She has completed formal graduate coursework in pedagogy and instructor training to teach university courses—a background which further enhances her tutoring. She aims to tailor her
