Common questions
Got questions? You’re not alone — here are some of the most common ones we hear.
Do you offer remote tutoring?
Yes—many educators tutor online. In-person options depend on region and family preference.
How quickly do you respond to applications?
Often within 2–24 hours on business days, depending on volume and fit.
What subjects are most in demand?
SSAT/ISEE, math (Algebra–Calculus), sciences (Chem/Bio/Physics), writing/English, and study skills.
What happens after I apply?
If there’s a fit, we’ll follow up with next steps and discuss lanes, scheduling expectations, and onboarding.
Do you require specific certifications?
Not always. We care most about teaching ability, subject mastery, professionalism, and reliability.
Do you provide materials or a curriculum?
It depends on the lane. We may provide resources, but strong educators also bring a structured approach and can adapt to each learner.
What does “prompt communication” mean?
Timely responses, proactive updates when schedules change, and clear follow-through with both families and Ivy Bound staff.
Can I tutor part-time?
Yes. Many educators start part-time. Clear availability helps us match you appropriately.
Is SAT/ACT tutoring still open?
SAT/ACT prep is filled except for applicants with 1580+ SAT or a 36 ACT score.
What if I only want to tutor one subject?
That’s fine. Share your strongest lane(s) and grade levels so we can place you effectively.
