This six-class course prepares students in grades 5–7 for the Middle Level SSAT. Mark Greenstein teaches the math, verbal, reading, writing, pacing, and decision-making skills students need at this level—without mixing them into an Upper Level class with different academic demands.
Classes meet in person in Greenwich, Connecticut, on Mondays from 4:15–5:45 PM. Tuition is $475 per student and includes six 90-minute classes / nine total instructional hours.
Classes will be held at the Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center located at 449 Pemberwick Rd, Greenwich, CT 06831
Students learn practical methods for fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, number properties, introductory algebra, geometry, measurement, and multi-step word problems. Verbal work covers high-frequency vocabulary, roots and word parts, synonym precision, analogy relationships, and elimination. Reading instruction emphasizes main idea, stated detail, sequence, context clues, and evidence-based inference. Students also develop a clear writing-sample plan and stronger test-taking habits.
The course includes level-specific instruction, guided practice, timed work, pacing checkpoints, error analysis, and a final priority plan for the target test. Students learn how to recognize the task, select an efficient approach, move past time traps, check their work, and understand why tempting wrong answers are wrong.
The sequence moves from test structure and baseline habits to quantitative methods, verbal reasoning, reading and writing, timed application, and final test-day rehearsal. The exact mix may adjust to the needs of the class while preserving the complete nine-hour program.

This purchase enrolls one student in the selected Middle Level cohort. Official SSAT registration is separate and is not included in course tuition. Classes are held in person in Greenwich, Connecticut; confirm the current venue with Ivy Bound.
